Founded in 2008, BAPC was created to bring the Bay Area music community together as a major networking event, and attract industry professionals from the leading metropolitan entertainment areas. With a strong emphasis on music producers and music production, the conference caters to the creative interests and business needs of the entire music community.
Some of the biggest names in the music industry have participated in the BAPC. The Keynote Speaker in 2009 was Grammy Award Winner Narada Michael Walden. He was joined by an all-star panel established and upcoming music producers, artists, and industry professionals, some of which included Rick Rock, Dre McKenzie (from G-Unit), Chaz Hayes (E40′s Manager), JT The Bigga Figga, (Rap Artist) J Ellis (Rap A Lot Records), and veteran engineer Michael Denten.
The event culminated in our famous BAPC beat battle, hosted by iStandard Producers from New York. The BAPC first Annual beat battle winners, Hitmakers, took home a $1,000 cash prize, sponsored by 17 Hertz. They received tremendous exposure and industry interest as a result.
In 2010 we honored artist/musician/producer, Dwayne Wiggins, of Toni Tony Tone fame with a Bay Area Producer award. Participating on the same producers panel were bay area standouts, Cori Jacobs, Sam Bostic and Cozmo.
Our A&R panel drew rave reviews. It consisted of Jeremi from Columbia Records, Livio from Notting Hill Pub, Tony from G-Unit and Gary Archer from Thizz/Atlantic. The BAPC beat battle was hosted by the popular and animated, Phillip Drummond and Flo. Our 2nd BAPC beat battle winner, DJ Playuhh, took home $1,000 gift certificate from Guitar Center, and $1,000 in studio time from our sponsor, Media Local Studios. And if that was not enough, a custom BAPC belt buckle provided by local artist Friscaso.
