Manny Jimenez aka "Stylo" has been intrigued by music ever since he could remember. Growing up, he was exposed to nothing but classic records from Earth Wind & Fire and The Gap Band to name a few. As Manny grew bigger, so did his love for music. He spent years watching his uncles (who had their own band) perform and rehearse covers of classic records and aspired to follow in their footsteps. He began playing drums, and went further by eventually getting into the production side of the music business by recording and "making music sound good" Manny would later find out that what he called "making music sound good" was actually Mixing, a job for an audio engineer. After years of doing this, Manny decided to study the art of sound engineering at Expression College In Emeryville CA. Manny began working for free mixing around the Bay Area and has worked on projects featuring local artists such as Mistah FAB, San Quinn, Goldie Of The Federation, HoodStarz and Clyde Carson to name a few.
As Manny went thru the courses at Expression College, one of his teachers noticed his mixing skill and high technical knowledge and offered to take him to Hollywood to a major recording studio where he used to work. Manny obliged and went to Hollywood for a week and interned at NightBird Studios @ the Sunset Marquis Hotel & Villa In West Hollywood. After one week Manny was offered an Assitant Engineer's position to then Chief Engineer, Jason Fleming. Manny soon put in endless hours of work, staying at the studio for more than 15 hours a day, doing everything from tracking/editing vocals to making food runs. Manny made it a point to be the all around utility man, the guy you call to do everything from tracking vocals to rebuilding computers. His hard work ethic got him noticed by Legendary Super Producer Teddy Riley, who took him under his wing and has mentored him over the past year.
In just one short year, Manny has worked with Multi Platinum Artists, Producers and Engineers such as: Teddy Riley, L.O.S DaMaestro, Jean-Marie Horvat, Devine Evans, Nicole Scherzinger, Pussycat Dolls, Amerie, Blackstreet, John Legend, New Kids On The Block and companies such as EA Sports on soundtracks for their 09 sports titles.
Despite everything hes done over the past year, Manny will always be a student of the game and currently is soaking up everything he is being taught by watching and working with Teddy Riley. Manny hopes to one day add his name to the list of Multi-Platinum Grammy Award Wining producers and engineers Teddy has mentored such as: Chad & Pharrel of the Neptunes, Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, and Mix Engineer Jean-Marie Horvat to name a few.
